WORSHIPERS THE FATHER SEEKS

WORSHIPERS THE FATHER SEEKS

November 20, 2016

It is worshipers who worship in spirit and truth that the Father seeks. It is not the act of worship, but the life that carries out the act that is important to God. It is sobering to realize that God knows how much of our lives constitute worship. He wants us to hold nothing back when it comes to worshiping Him. Our whole life must be liberally given to God in worship. A true worshiper knows that God is constantly searching into the depths of his being. David was such a man:

Vindicate me, O Lord, for I have walked in my integrity, I have also trusted in the Lord, I shall not slip. Examine me, O Lord, and prove me; Try my mind and my heart. Psalm 26:1-2.

The context in which Psalm 26 was written is derived from Psalm 25 in which David acknowledges his sins and shortcomings. With earnest supplications, he asks God for mercy and forgiveness. In that light, he then boldly asks for Divine inspection.

The great English theologian Spurgeon’s interpretation of Psalm 26:2 is: ‘Examine me and look me through and through; make a minute survey and put me to question and cross examine my evidence. Prove me and test me put me again to trial. Try me and assay me as metals are assayed in the furnace’.

Thank God that He forgives us our sins when they are confessed. If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:8-9). This gives us the boldness to ask God to never stop seeking and searching our hearts and minds. The worshiper must be cleansed as by fire to remove the dross. It is so easy to worship God in the day of prosperity and health but are we as prepared in the day of lack and sickness? It is in those days that the fire of God will burn out the insincerity and bring forth pure vessels of worship. We do not have to wait for the crisis for God’s fire to burn. Let the flame continuously be alight in our hearts so that the smallest imperfections are constantly consumed. This is the essence of the worshiper.

Science tells us that there’s inter-connectivity in everything. Einstein’s theory, E=MC², says that all energy is convertible to matter, and that all matter contains energy. Everything in the universe contains energy, molecules, atoms, and subatomic particles vibrate at specific frequencies.

Not all music is bad and I don’t want to give the impression that we must only listen to Christian music. We do however have to be aware of the dangers of some music that can have a negative influence on our lives.
